The Chairman of the Placement Board, Prof. David Ndetei, and Placement Service Chief Executive Officer John Muraguri are visiting a sample of member universities and colleges to get feedback on the services offered to the institutions by the Placement Service.
The visits are also meant to provide an opportunity to the Chairman, on behalf of the Board, to familiarise himself with the institutions, their programmes and needs. The visits began on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Maasai Mara University and Kisii University.
At the two institutions, Prof. Ndetei and Mr. Muraguri held successful discussions with administrations who were led by their Vice-Chancellors and Deans. The Chairman and the CEO emphasised the Placement Service’s commitment to transparency, fairness and equity in the placement of government-sponsored students to universities and colleges. They also highlighted aspects of the Placement Policy including affirmative action, placement procedures and the online application system.
The University administrators praised the Placement Service for its commendable work. They also provided important insights and observations regarding the placement of government-sponsored students to universities and colleges.
The Chairman and the CEO have Tuesday morning visited Rongo University College in Migori County. They are also scheduled to visit Kisumu Polytechnic, Maseno University, Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, Egerton University, Laikipia University and University of Eldoret. The others are Rift Valley Technical Training Institute and Nyandarua Technical Training Institute.
