1,000 Students Sensitised at 2025 Embu County Career Fair

Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), in collaboration with the Embu County Professional Development Association (ECPDA), held a successful career fair at St. Peter’s Primary and Junior School at Ishiara on 26th July 2025.

The event brought together over 1,000 students from 10 secondary schools across the region, offering them a valuable opportunity to explore various academic and career pathways. The career fair aimed to inform, inspire, and guide learners on available opportunities in higher education, technical and vocational training, and career development. Over 20 exhibitors, including universities, TVET institutions, government agencies, and private sector players, displayed their programs and shared insights with participants.

In addition to the students, the event attracted more than 500 members of the local community, parents, and guardians who engaged with the exhibitors and organisers to better understand the changing education and job market landscape.

KUCCPS representatives were on hand to offer guidance on the application process, career choices, and government-sponsored programs, while professionals from Embu County provided mentorship and shared their real-world experiences in various careers.

The event served as a powerful platform for bridging the information gap between students and institutions of higher learning. It also emphasised the importance of community involvement in shaping the future of young learners.

KUCCPS remains committed to promoting equity and access to higher education and appreciates the collaboration with local partners in reaching students in all corners of the Kenya. (By Hannah Njambi)
