KUCCPS Opens September Intake Application for Utalii College’s New Campus
Tuesday, August 11, 2026 – Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened its system for application to Ronald Ngala Utalii College, a new Kilifi-based campus of Kenya Utalii College.
The system opened for 14 days with effect from Monday August 10, 2026 to enable Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) holders to apply for 13 hospitality and tourism programmes to be offered at the college starting September 2026.
Additionally, KUCCPS will pitch a tent at the new college to offer on-site support to prospective students. Officers from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) and the Tourism Fund will also be present on site to provide information and guidance on funding applications.
The college seeks to admit 1,000 students for its first-ever intake, which will take place next month during an official launch at Vipingo in Kilifi County.
Last week, KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome, accompanied by Kenya Utalii College Principal/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Mark Ogendi, participated in a multi-sectoral meeting at the newly constructed institution, where preparations for its opening were discussed.
During the planned on-site placement activities, KUCCPS officers will camp at the college to offer prospective students timely career guidance and application support, the CEO announced.
The preparatory meeting, held on Monday, August 3, brought together representatives of the Ministry of Tourism, Tourism Fund, Utalii College, KUCCPS, Kilifi County Government, and other stakeholders. KUCCPS Director for Placement and Career Development, Prof. John Oluoch, was also present.
The discussions centered on preparations for the official launch of the college and the upcoming admissions for the September 2026 intake.
Earlier this year, KUCCPS placed 800 students to Kenya Utalii College, Nairobi Campus, for the March 2026 intake. The September intake for the Kilifi-based campus will significantly expand access to training opportunities for Kenya's growing tourism and hospitality sector.
