KUCCPS Partners with Mountain Run to Promote Careers in Sports and Environmental Conservation
Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) joined stakeholders to promote sports, talent development and environmental conservation during the 4th edition of Tinderet Barng’etuny Mountain Run was held on 18th January 2025 at Tinderet, Nandi County.
As a major partner, KUCCPS not only provided 2,000 tree seedlings for growing in the county, but also conducted public sensitisation to participants who included youth, parents and school children. KUCCPS provided career guidance services to over 200 students, parents and guardians as well as disseminated valuable information on career opportunities in sports. KUCCPS staff also participated in a tree planting activity at the Barng’etuny Farm in support of the National Tree Growing Campaign.
Tinderet Barng’etuny Mountain Run is the training and trial race for national teams representing Kenya in World Mountain Races globally, and has produced many internationally successful athletes.
This year’s championship was graced by Head of Public Service, Hon. Felix Koskei, who was the Chief Guest. Also present were Principal Secretaries Eng. Peter Tum (Sports), Dr. Belio Kipsang (Basic Education), and John Ololtuaa (Tourism), Tinderet MP Hon. Julius Melly and other government officials, elected leaders and athletics officials.
